Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact 3-ring piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with high silicon content, low thermal expansion and tin coating on the sliding surfaces. It is weight-reduced and reinforced. Machining is carried out on numerically controlled machine tools; the heat exchange surfaces have been recalculated and improved.

The ring set includes a nitrided and chrome-plated steel I-ring, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy. The cylinder liner features crossed smoothing with two diamond passes and very limited tolerances.
