TRIUMPH TIGER 800 [2011-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. This high-performance chain eliminates the need for regular relubrication that motorcyclists typically have to do every 1,000 km. The innovative Z-Ring chain was specially developed to maximize service life and minimize maintenance and environmental impact.

Extensive laboratory and road testing has proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least equivalent to, if not greater than, that of a traditional regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key advantage of this chain is the coating with tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the field of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) technologies. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and ensures a reduction in energy losses and an increase in efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. It also eliminates the need for chain cleaning and lubricant splashing during operation, significantly reducing the environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
