The cylinder is made of a primary aluminum alloy with a high content of hardened and tempered silicon. The cylinder liner has a silicon carbide coating in an electroplated nickel form and cross smoothing with two diamond passes and very limited tolerances. Machining is carried out on machine tools with high-precision numerical control. Recalculated and improved heat exchange surfaces support the structural design of the cylinder.

Pistons and piston rings

The ultra-compact three-ring piston is made of a special aluminum alloy with high silicon content, low thermal expansion and a tin coating on the sliding surfaces. It is weight-reduced and reinforced. The piston rings include an I-ring made of nitrided and chrome-plated steel, a special cast ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy.
