The PROX forged piston is designed as a replacement piston for the KTM 250 EXC-F Factory Edition from 2015. Its forged aluminum design combines precise manufacturing with a resilient construction for use in the 4T engine.

Function and execution

PROX pistons are precision manufactured on modern CNC systems. The piston alloy used is designed for low expansion and reduced friction. Depending on the version, a coating supports the running-in process; An apron coating can also help reduce friction after running in.

The flat crown with raised top part and 4 valve pockets is tailored to the specified piston geometry. The standard piston compression and compression ratio of 14.4:1 makes selection easy based on the existing engine configuration.
