HONDA CRF 1100 L AFRICA TWIN [2020-2025] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in the performance of motorcycle chains. This highly developed chain does not require regular relubrication, which makes it particularly low-maintenance. Motorcyclists benefit from significant time savings as the usual lubrication every 1,000 km is no longer necessary.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A special feature of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and offers extremely high hardness while maintaining a low coefficient of friction.

The ta-C coating reduces energy losses and increases the efficiency of the secondary drive. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation helps minimize environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
