VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged pistons for GAS GAS MC 450 F

The VERTEX GP Racer Choice forged piston was developed for use in the GAS GAS MC 450 F from the 2021-2023 model year range. Its design combines a forged aluminum construction with targeted details on the piston crown, piston structure and piston ring.

Function and design features

• The shape of the piston crown supports an optimized flame front and is designed to achieve the maximum permissible compression ratio.
• The surface treatment reduces the friction between the components involved.
• Reinforcements stiffen the piston structure and counteract deformation of the piston crown under full load.
• The short piston pin and the chamfer have a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating.
• The locking ring with an external nose prevents twisting at high speeds.
• The extra-thin GNH piston ring made of gas nitrided steel increases wear resistance.
