“Obiettivo Dakar” is dedicated to a motorsport event whose significance goes far beyond pure competition. The book traces the streets of the Paris-Dakar and brings to life the period in which the early African editions created the myth of the race.

Myth, people and motorcycles

The focus is on the experiences of eight participants who intensively experienced both the difficulties and the beauty of the Dakar. Their stories provide a personal view of the race, its adventures and the distinctive motorcycles with their colors, sponsors and graphics.

Unit Garage and the Dakar

One of the protagonists portrayed in the book is Fabio Marcaccini from Unit Garage. His stories and work help keep the myth of the race alive. Some Unit Garage ideas also emerged from the experiences of the Dakar participants and later rallies.
