PUIG Downforce Race Side Spoilers for the YAMAHA YZF-R7

The Downforce Race Side Spoilers give the YZF-R7 distinctive racing styling while also serving as aerodynamically effective components. Their shapes, inspired by the Yamaha Monster Energy MotoGP bike, channel incoming air from the sides and generate downforce at the front wheel.

Aerodynamic function

The targeted airflow increases downforce at the front. This allows the spoilers to enhance stability at high speeds, counteract shimmies and provide greater front-end composure under hard braking. They also improve stability during changes of direction. Under hard acceleration, the aerodynamic concept counteracts front-wheel lift.

Construction and dimensions

• Two spoiler elements made from 4 mm thick acrylic material
• 400 mm wide and 123 mm high
• Mounted using 2 mm thick metal brackets
• Brackets with textured black paint
• Available in Black, Matte Black and Carbon Look

Development and vehicle integration

PUIG develops and manufactures the Side Spoilers in Barcelona using current production and aerodynamic technologies. The design incorporates experience from MotoGP and WorldSBK. The mounting system does not interfere with any critical motorcycle components and is designed for installation in approximately 30 minutes.

Documentation and ABE

An aerodynamic study is included. An ABE document is also available for the product; its scope of validity for the specific motorcycle must be checked before use.
