Malossi H20 I-Tech cylinder set with Ø 63 mm for Vespa GTS 125

The H20 I-Tech cylinder set from Malossi is intended for the Vespa GTS 125 built between 2023 and 2024. With a cylinder bore of Ø 63 mm, 58.7 mm stroke and 183 cm³ displacement, it is designed as a big-bore component for use in competition.

The cylinder is made of a primary aluminum alloy with a high proportion of hardened and tempered silicon. Its liner has a silicon carbide coating in an electroplated nickel die. Cross smoothing is done in two diamond passes with very limited tolerances. Machining is carried out on machine tools with high-precision numerical control. Newly calculated heat exchange surfaces support heat transfer.

Pistons and piston rings

The lightweight, reinforced and ultra-compact piston is designed with three rings. It consists of a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content and low thermal expansion. A tin coating protects the sliding surfaces. The piston is also machined on numerically controlled machine tools and has improved heat exchange surfaces.

• First ring: compression ring made of nitrided and chrome-plated steel
• Second ring: special cast iron
• Wiper ring: three-piece, made of special chrome-plated steel alloy

The special rings combine high sliding properties with very high mechanical resistance.
