HONDA VFR 750 [1988-1992] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in performance and durability for motorcycle chains. This advanced chain no longer requires regular relubrication, which would be common every 1,000 km. This represents a significant innovation that significantly reduces both time and effort for motorcyclists.

Extensive tests in the laboratory and on the road have proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least equal to, if not longer than, that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key element of this chain is the coating with tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings from the group of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and offers extremely high hardness while maintaining a low coefficient of friction.

The ta-C coating reduces energy losses and increases the efficiency of the secondary drive. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation helps minimize environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible by the intensive research and development work of Regina engineers in Italy.
